From Biscuits to chips, Rice to Vegtables, Snoodles to sauce, toothpaste to Vcd/dvd's, We had purchased it all, in view of the Karnataka bandh toms. The Busy IT hub will be seen devoid of automobiles on the road. From buses to Autos, Call taxis to office shuttles, none of these would hit the road toms as normal life would come to an abnormal standstill. Huh !! So much for water !!! But, the idea of Bandh has never really impressed me as a protest that will have some positive repurcussions. What is it they achieve by inflicting pain upon themselves in the name of bandh. The country knows enough about the kind of Linguistic solidarity You guys have and it s a shame they have the effrontery to flaunt it. To all those who drive such a shutdown, F**k off. It's such a pity that the ignorance of the farmers and the masses is being taken for a ride. It's such a financial drain for the residents of this very state on account of bandh and those few who are instrumental in the bandh lack common sense in every possible way causing damage to those many who lack power in every possible way..
So, as We took to streets an hour back to get all required groceries for toms, We discovered that Milk was missing from the list of items that we had purchased. As I motored through every possible road in BTM layout in search of Milk, We were received with sarcastic/mocking/ridiculing/pitiable smiles in different shops. If one so cold bloodedly joked "come tomorrow"(Huh !! very funny), one other so effortlessly nodded his head to suggest he doesnt have milk, even before we asked for it...Gawd, sure, ther must hav been hundreds who returned home Milkless..In one other shop, one of the customers said "why do ya think I am smoking here? " to suggest he s smoking his frustration out, on not getting Milk anywhere. In one other shop when we enquired for "paalu" (Milk in tamil), the kinda weird smile spoke a lot "Why do ya think there s a bandh toms, only to inflict some pain to all you tams here" ....Gawddddd.....Ma roomie goes on to joke "Bangaloril thamizhaga ilagyargalukku Paal kattupadu"(Dearth of Milk for tam youngsters in blr)...Now that will be one of those most sought after headlines for a tam newspaper article :-)....huh, so much for milk...Just as we gave up, we managed couple of "good life" Milk Tetra packs. Some consolation finally :-)... Tomorrow is gonna be one helluva holiday for everyone including the roads, bikes, cars and yeah this part of earth's crust beneath karnataka :-)....Check out couple of days later for Post bandh updates !!
